3. How We Use Personal Information
We may use personal information to provide and operate Velofi; create and administer accounts; verify identities and businesses; process transactions and payments; provide financing or related financial services where available; assess eligibility, risk, fraud, or security concerns; facilitate engineering-related purchases, services, projects, or payments; provide customer support; send account, transaction, security, and service notifications; personalize and improve our Services; conduct analytics and product development; prevent fraud, misuse, and unauthorized activity; maintain records; enforce our agreements; comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and protect Velofi, our users, partners, and the public.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law, regulation, court order, lawful regulatory request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, security, or property of Velofi, our users, or others.
If Velofi undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable data protection requirements.
We do not sell personal information merely for third parties to independently market their products to you.
6. Data Security
Velofi implements reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, destruction, loss, or misuse.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, secure infrastructure, monitoring, employee access restrictions, and internal security procedures.
However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our Services, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and satisfy applicable legal, accounting, regulatory, or reporting obligations.
Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information and the service involved. When information is no longer reasonably required, we may securely delete or anonymize it, subject to applicable legal requirements.
8. International Data Transfers
Velofi, its infrastructure providers, or its service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you reside. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take appropriate measures required under applicable data protection laws to ensure that the information receives an appropriate level of protection.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information; request deletion of your information; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; object to or restrict certain processing; request information concerning how your information is processed; and exercise applicable data portability rights.
You may also lodge a complaint with an appropriate data protection authority, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, where applicable.
